Billing
Canceling and re-subscribing
How to cancel, what happens to your rules, and how to come back later.
The plan is month-to-month. You can cancel anytime — and re-subscribe whenever you need the app again.
How to cancel
Inside the app:
- Open the Billing page
- Scroll to the bottom and click Cancel subscription
- Review what happens (rules stop applying, config is preserved) and confirm
From Shopify admin:
- Go to Settings → Apps and sales channels
- Click Snax Variant Discounts
- Click Manage next to the active subscription
- Cancel
Both routes do the same thing.
What happens when you cancel
- Discounts stop applying at checkout immediately
- All your rules stay saved in the app (they're flipped to inactive but not deleted)
- All your settings, schedules, eligibility rules, conditions are preserved
- The app stays installed (you can still open it and view your config)
You aren't charged again on the next billing cycle.
Re-subscribing later
When you want the app working again:
- Open the app
- Go to Billing
- Pick a plan and confirm
- Open Discount rules
- Toggle the rules you want back on
That's it. Your rules pick up exactly where they left off.
Important: the trial only applies once
Shopify grants the 7-day free trial only once per store, per app. If you cancelled during or after the trial and re-subscribe later, you'll be charged immediately on the new subscription — no second trial.
Annual / seasonal use case
This pattern works perfectly for merchants who only run discount campaigns at certain times of year:
- January: subscribe + activate rules for winter clearance
- February: cancel after the campaign ends
- November: subscribe again for Black Friday, reactivate rules with a click
- December: cancel after holidays
Your rules persist across the off-months. You only pay for the months you actively need them.
Cancel vs uninstall
These are different:
- Cancel — stops billing, preserves all your rules and settings, app stays installed. Reversible with one click.
- Uninstall — removes the app entirely. Wipes your saved rules and settings after a 30-day grace period.
For seasonal use, always cancel rather than uninstall. Uninstalling means rebuilding everything next time.
