Installing the app

Snax Variant Discounts installs from the Shopify App Store with no developer setup, no theme changes, and no migrations.

Install from the App Store

1. Open the listing: Snax Variant Discounts on the Shopify App Store
2. Click Add app
3. Choose the store you want to install on
4. Approve the requested permissions (read products, read/write discounts, read orders, read customers, read markets, read publications)
5. You'll land inside Shopify admin with the app open and a Home page showing setup steps

Permissions explained

Scope	Why we need it
read_products	Match variants against your catalog when you build a rule
read_discounts, write_discounts	Create the underlying Shopify discount that runs at checkout
read_orders	Show revenue from discounted orders on the Home page
read_customers	Optional customer eligibility on rules
read_markets	Apply rules to specific Shopify Markets
read_publications	Apply rules to specific sales channels

We do not request write access to anything except discounts. We do not access payment data, customer PII beyond customer IDs/segments, or modify products.

Verifying installation

After install:

1. The app's Home page should load with a welcome banner.
2. Open Shopify admin → Discounts. You'll see no entries yet — discounts are created when you activate your first rule.
3. Open Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels. You should see "Snax Variant Discounts" listed as installed.
